Terms of Service

1. The service

Utsav is a multi-tenant SaaS for Maharashtra's Ganpati, Navratri, Dahi Handi, and similar festival mandals. It helps you record donations, generate receipts, track expenses, manage volunteers, and share reports. By using Utsav you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

Utsav is sales-led — accounts are provisioned by our team after a demo and payment, not self-signup.
Keep your sign-in credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
One mandal per account. You can run multiple festivals (up to your plan's limit) within that mandal.

3. Pricing & payment

Pricing is per festival, not monthly. Current published prices apply (₹449 for 1 festival, ₹899 for 3 festivals). See Pricing.
Payments are collected manually via UPI/bank transfer. Once we confirm payment, your plan is activated for the agreed period (typically 1 year from the date of payment).
Each payment grants festival slot credits — ₹449 adds 1 credit, ₹899 adds 3. A credit is consumed when you add a new festival to your mandal.
Plans are non-refundable once a festival has been recorded against them. If we mess up, we'll make it right.
We may change pricing for future periods with at least 30 days' notice. Existing paid periods are honored at the original price.

4. Subscription expiry & read-only access

Each paid subscription has a validity period (usually 1 year from payment). When this period ends, your mandal automatically enters read-only mode.
In read-only mode you cannot:
  • Record new donations or expenses
  • Edit or delete existing entries
  • Add new festivals or change donor details
You can still:
  • Sign in to your account
  • View every past donation, expense, donor and receipt
  • Download CSV reports for any year or festival
  • Print or re-share receipts on WhatsApp
Your data is never deleted on expiry. Renew at any time (₹449 or ₹899) and full write access is restored immediately, with the historic data intact.
We will send reminders via WhatsApp / email approximately 30, 7 and 1 day(s) before your subscription ends. We may also surface the renewal status inside the app.
Sponsor / complimentary accounts (granted at our discretion) are exempt from expiry while the complimentary status is active.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:
Use Utsav to collect funds for unlawful purposes.
Send spam, abusive, or misleading messages to donors.
Attempt to break into other mandals' data, bypass plan limits, or disrupt the service.
Resell or sublicense Utsav to third parties without our written consent.

6. Your data & our software

Your data is yours. Donations, donors, expenses, receipts, and reports you create remain your property. You can export them as CSV any time.
The Utsav software is ours. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your mandal as long as your account is active and in good standing.
You grant us a limited right to host and process your data solely to deliver the service.

7. Receipts & donor records

Utsav generates receipts based on the information you enter. You are responsible for the accuracy of donation amounts, donor details, PAN/registration numbers, and any 80G claims. Donors should be advised to verify receipts through the QR code on every receipt.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but don't promise zero downtime. We may take the service offline briefly for maintenance, security patches, or upgrades — we'll try to do so outside peak festival hours.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Utsav's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., loss of business, goodwill, or data beyond what we control).

10. Suspension & termination

You can stop using Utsav anytime. Unused festival credits are non-refundable but you can keep accessing past records.
We may suspend or terminate your account for serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable.
On termination, you can export your data for 30 days before it is deleted from our systems.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Indian law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Pune, Maharashtra.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email.
